Created new web presence for a growing city that allowed the city to manage all content and features on the community website including many applications that supported citizen self service applications that could be accessed and used 24 ours a day. The site provided all community members with better information about their community, events, and access to leaders. The site also provided a better presence for economic development as it represented a progressive, growing, business friendly conduit for organizations looking to grow or potentially relocate to that community.
Designed and implemented an on-line policy system for a specialty insurance provider in the Property & Casualty industry. The .net based system was designed to handle all phases of the process from new product facilitation, to quoting, through policy issuance, premium processing, claims processing and remediation, and integration with financial systems. The system was designed in a manner to focus on the policy holder/customer in both individual and group capabilities and allowed the ability to market additional specialty products to the policy holder in an efficient, easy to track manner. Quoting, policy issuance, premium and claims processing were implemented in an on-line manner that allowed for greater policy holder service without adding additional staff to the organization. The system was designed and tested to scale for adding multiple products in multiple jurisdictions with minimal system changes. Within 3 months of going live, the client added two new products to the system and had them in production within 20 days of approval – a 6 month improvement over the previous system.
Our application development team created an on-line Accounts Payable processing system for a provider of professional legal services. The on-line system allowed the legal professionals who provided the service to enter their activities in a secure on-line application that tied to customer information in a different application for validation; and then track the request through processing and payment issuance. The application significantly reduced the time from payment request to payment and improved service to the legal providers by giving them on-line access to the payment request process 24/7. The client also increased efficiency as more than 80% of all payment requests are now submitted on-line, eliminating data entry, and with on-line status updates, calls to the accounts payable team regarding payment status have also been significantly reduced.
After helping our construction management client correct data entry errors in a very large excel spreadsheet for four weeks, our management consulting team suggested that our development team create a database solution that would eliminate the data entry errors and allow the client to use the application for a variety of reports – including the “poster sized” weekly detail report requirement from the clients customer. The .net and SQL based solution allowed for multiple entry points (AS/400, windows and internet based application file downloads) as well as manual entry for required information, then applied the appropriate business logic to estimate progress, cost allocation and savings, and provide projections for the client’s customer. While specifically designed for a unique situation, the solution offered enough reporting and flexibility that the client is now using the database solution on a variety of multi-phase, multi-facility projects saving hundreds of hours each month and improving reporting and management efficiency.
